Dr. Liliana Montoya

Dr. Liliana Montoya

Neurologist; Primary Investigator (PI)

Dr. Montoya graduated from the University of Caldas in Colombia in 1990. Upon graduating she was a general practitioner in Colombia, until moving to the United States. She initially trained at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and completed a 2 yr. fellowship in special immunology program, as well as completing additional training in research.

After her fellowship training, she went to Puerto Rico to complete her internship. She then continued her training in neurology at the University of Connecticut and during her last year of residency, she became Chief Resident. After graduating in 2002 she moved to Port Charlotte Florida where she has been offering her services to the community. Dr. Montoya treats all neurologic conditions, with special interest in Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and dementia.

Dr. George Li

Dr. George Li

Certified in adult Neurology

Dr. Li is double board-certified in adult Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and in Electromyography (EMG) by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He completed his residency in Neurology at SUNY-Downstate medical school in Brooklyn, NYC.

He pursued a fellowship in Electromyography and Neuromuscular disorders at the University of Maryland Medical School in Baltimore, Maryland. After fellowship training, he became an Assistant Professor at the Neuromuscular division/ALS Center of Neurology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/UMDNJ. He spent almost six years practicing and teaching in neuromuscular disorders and performing EMG testing’s. In 2007, he moved to Port Charlotte and joined the Neurology, PA.

Dr. Li treats all neurological disorders including headache, dementia, seizure, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and neck/back pain and is an expert in the diagnosis and management of complex neuromuscular disorders including peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy, myopathy, myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy and ALS. He is the only EMG certified neurologist in Port Charlotte.

Over 14 years’ experience in Healthcare, the last 11 years with a focus on Oncology, Cardiology, and specializing in Neurology. My passion is to provide optimal patient care, continue learning new approaches to medical interventions, and broaden my knowledge of therapeutic strategies.
